Tupac Shakur: The Life and Death of a Legend Introduction Tupac Shakur was one of the most influential and versatile rappers of all time. His music was a powerful reflection of the social and political issues of his time, and his lyrics resonated with millions of people around the world. Shakur was also a talented actor and poet, and he left behind a legacy that continues to inspire and entertain people today. Tupac's Life Tupac Shakur was born Lesane Parish Crooks on June 16, 1971, in East Harlem, New York City. His mother, Afeni Shakur, was a Black Panther activist, and his father, Billy Garland, was a Black Panther member who was killed in a shootout with police before Tupac was born. Tupac spent his early childhood living in Harlem and Baltimore. In 1986, he and his mother moved to Marin City, California, a predominantly Black community in the San Francisco Bay Area. It was in Marin City that Tupac began to develop his interest in hip hop music. In 1989, Tupac relea
